Stencils are made of a high quality removable (non-permanent) vinyl. Each package contains two stencils.
Recommendations:
- Wipe disc with alcohol to remove any dust, dirt, and residual chemicals used in the manufacturing process. Make sure the disc is dry. We use 91% isopropyl alcohol, however the 70% version should suffice; both are available at stores like Walmart.
- Vinyl stencil can be applied freely or with the use of transfer material - when using transfer material (recommended) follow the instructions on/in the packaging.
- The stencil should have enough border to extend well past the dying area.
- Full disc stencils will have an overhang to wrap around the rim.
- Area stencils will have sufficient overage but may require masking of the remaining disc.
- If you trim the edge of the stencil, leftover vinyl should be saved for use for masking.
- Be sure the edge of the stencil that will be in contact with the dye is sufficiently smoothed so as not to let any of the dye seep under the vinyl. You will want to remove or sufficiently quarantine any air bubbles.
- Stencils are intended for single use.
